The Paloma: the cocktail you will be making all of the time

There’s something about the Paloma that keeps me coming back. Maybe it’s the salted rim, maybe it’s the bittersweet balance of the grapefruit mixed with the lime and sugar… I don’t know what it is but the Paloma is my favorite cocktail ever. And I don’t even like tequila that much!

What you’ll need: 🍸

  • Kosher salt
  • 1 grapefruit wedge
  • 1/2  cup fresh grapefruit juice
  • 2 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ¼ cup mescal or tequila reposado
  • ¼ cup club soda

Method:
First, pour some kosher salt on the plate. Use a lime wedge to rub some juice on the rim and dip the tim of the glass in the salt to make a ring.

Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar in glass; shake vigorously until sugar is dissolved. Stir in mescal, add ice, and top off with club soda. Ta-da you got the Paloma cocktail, the tastiest drink known to woman.

I’ve written about other cocktails here, check it out!
