Low Effort, High Reward Creamy Sesame Noodles

creamy sesame noodles topped with a fried egg, chilli flakes, and sesame seeds

Inside me exists a leisure loving island girl who wants to always be underneath a palm tree sipping cold coconut water from a whole coconut. She loves low effort high reward anything. This creamy sesame noodles recipe takes 10 minutes to make. It can be vegan or not and has a lot of space for iteration and growth. You can add fresh veggies. Short ribs. Shredded chicken. Kimchi. Green onions. Fried tofu. Seriously, the world is yours.

A few months ago I went to see Yotam Ottolenghi speak here in Houston. He is a great source of inspiration to me. My biggest takeaway from seeing hearing him speak was 1. Use more tahini (sesame paste) and 2. take more risks (lol in this economy). So as of lately I’ve been trying to make more recipes that involve tahini because it’s a great source of non saturated fat and creaminess.

Creamy Sesame Noodles

  • 1/4 cup tahini paste
  • 3 tbsp. hot water
  • 2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. chilli flakes
